Exploring The Towns of

Shenandoah National Park

Skyline Drive is the signature route through Shenandoah National Park, a 105-mile scenic road that follows the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains from Front Royal in the north to Rockfish Gap in the south, where it connects with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Along the way, it serves as the scenic thread linking the gateway towns of the region, each offering its own places to stay, eat, explore, and return to after a day in the park. With overlooks, trailheads, wildlife sightings, and mountain views around nearly every bend, Skyline Drive is meant to be experienced slowly. The speed limit is 35 mph, and once you are there, you will understand why.
